About us
The Kyungpook National University Christian Center (KNUCC) foundation dates back to 1955 when its founding members constructed a Christian center with the support of four nations, local Christian churches, and other local efforts. At that time, 22 Christian students lived at the Christian Center within its dormitories.

Kyungpook National University Church was founded in 2005. Currently, the church has grown with its responsibility to minister to a campus with over 35,000 students, its staff, faculty, and employees. The church being uniquely located on university property in Daegu, but outside the campus walls; gives it the added mission of being a tool that God can use in reaching the surrounding community. The church’s reach also extends abroad through its efforts to administer God’s love to a foreign student population from DR Congo, Uganda, Kenya, Philippines, Tanzania, Madagascar, Ethiopia, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, China, Russia, Mongolia, India, France, Indonesia, Myanmar, Gabon, the United States and other nations.

The church has a rich history of divine favor from God, demonstrated by the support given to KNUC by many local churches and even from abroad.

KNU Church has an English church service every Sunday at 11am, along with English-speaking bible studies (some Korean translation), outreach programs, fellowship meetings, vocation retreats and other events at or around the campus in Daegu. The church embraces God’s children from around the world. KNU Church believes in the bible, and when properly translated; it is inerrancy. We certainly can agree with the essence of creeds such as the Nicene, and Apostles Creeds; but will not be bound by any shortsightedness, because great is the mystery of Godliness (I Tim. 3:16). We share and have fellowship based on our communion in Lord Jesus Christ and holding to essentials of Christian doctrine. The non-essentials are also important to live spiritually rich lives and to demonstrate a love of God by obedience; therefore these we teach and preach, yet seek not to divide with our brethren over misunderstandings of such because love is preeminent. We believe love to be the greatest of commandments (Mat. 22:37-39), along with its application in a later commandment (Joh. 13:34-35).

Daegu KNUC supports and cooperates with local churches, the KNU Christian Professor Association, campus Mission groups (CCC, CMI, DFC, ESF, ISF, IVF, JDM, LWM, Navigator, SFC, etc.), Christian fellowships of different departments, campus churches of Korea, and mission groups abroad related to the KNU church.
